About Us
Northwest Arkansas SCORE, Chapter 511 provides free and confidential small business counseling and mentoring services on a broad spectrum of business topics for existing or start-up businesses and entrepreneurs. All of our counselor/mentors are volunteers from all areas of the business world. We serve all of NWA including Bella Vista, Bentonville, Fayetteville, Fort Smith, Rogers and Springdale.
SCORE Counselors are volunteers coming from various areas of the business community. SCORE Counselors provide FREE and confidential assistance to entrepreneurs and business owners in Northwest Arkansas cities of Bella Vista, Bentonville, Fayetteville, Ft Smith, Harrison, Rogers, Springdale and cities in the counties of Baxter, Benton, Boone, Carroll, Madison, Marion, Newton, Searcy and Washington, Arkansas. Each volunteer strives not only to assist small business development but also to serve as mentors to their clients as the businesses progress.
In addition to our services to local small business, we endeavor to cultivate future entrepreneurs and offer our services as contest judges, speaker and consultants. We are active in our area's Chambers of Commerce and assist the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville when possible. The latter includes mentoring and coaching graduate students for Business Plan Competition and providing leadership and direction to the SAKE program (Students Acquiring Knowledge through Enterprise).
We have been nationally honored as SCORE District Chapter of the year on many occasions for our work in Northwest Arkansas with business owners, entrepreneurs and business and civic leaders in the area. We are one of 24 District Chapters recognized out of 400 Chapters of the National SCORE Organization!
We are a resource partner of the Small Business Administration and the Arkansas Small Business Development Center at the University of Arkansas.

SCORE Delivers Expert Advice to Entrepreneurs
SCORE’s more than 13,000 working and retired business professionals are committed to helping their communities thrive by providing local small business owners with valuable guidance and insights for success. Each of the 354 SCORE chapters across the country provide services and programs tailored to the local community’s specific business needs and challenges.
• SCORE mentors understand the needs and challenges of managing successful businesses because they’ve experienced them too. Most have owned and operated their own businesses or served in management positions for companies such as McDonnell Douglas, Kodak, Procter & Gamble and General Electric.
• SCORE provided 590,550 total services in fiscal year (FY) 2010* - and has helped more than 9 million entrepreneurs and small business owners since 1964.
• SCORE offered 80,234 face-to-face and online business workshops in FY10. Seminars range in topic and scope depending on the needs of the local business community. A total of 283,150 people participated in a SCORE workshop in FY10.
SCORE Small Business Web Site Provides Entrepreneurs with Helpful Tools
For more than a decade, SCORE has offered its valuable business mentoring services online at www.score.org. The web site’s content has grown to provide visitors with easy access to business information resources.
• Ask a Question online mentoring provides fast, free and confidential advice from dedicated, experienced mentors via email. In 2010, there were 106,216 online client sessions through SCORE Small Business web site www.score.org. Online mentors respond to questions within 48 hours.
• The SCORE web site has more than 2,000 pages of content dedicated to solving business problems. In FY10, www.score.org recorded more than 3.5 million visitors.
• SCORE mentors value business privacy. All mentoring is confidential. Based on an entrepreneur’s needs, business mentoring with SCORE can last just a few sessions or evolve into an ongoing mentoring relationship.
SCORE, Counselors to America's Small Business is a 501(C)3 non-profit organization. Less than half of our expenses are funded through the Small Business Administration of the US Government. The balance are funded locally through workshops and donations.

We want you to meet your NWA SCORE Free Business Counselor and Mentor as soon as possible. Initial appointment is usually in person at a mutually agreed location. Additional services will be provided by email, phone and face to face meetings as appropriate.
